Fun with the Grandparents!

Kyra had a great weekend with Grandparents. She got to see both sets on Sunday. Grandpa Green came late Saturday night and played with Kyra Sunday morning before heading back home. Kyra as you can see was combing Grandma Green's hair. We also went to Grandma & Grandpa Olberding's on Sunday.

KSU Game

(President Wefald & I)

Ryan and I went to the K-State game today. We tailgated over on the blacktop with my dad and Carla. While we were there I got to see my cousin Erin and his son Ashton. They had seats in our section up above us in row 32. The game was sad and borning to me. The Cats' defense look HORRIBLE! It was such a long HOT game. The highlight of the game was getting my picture taken with President Wefald. He and Bill Synder were inducted into the KSU Hall of Fame at halftime. My mom and Freedom watched Kyra for the day. I missed seeing Heather and Todd, well I got to physically see them but not really visit:( It sounded like Kyra had fun today. She went shopping with Grandma! She also ran away from Grandma when it was time for a bath. After her bath it only took her 30 seconds to dump baby powder everywhere! Freedom got her FFA jacket and put on her offical dress....it looked AWESOME on her. We spent some time working on the Creed and how to present it. I'm so excited for her to be a part of such a wonderful club.

Bring on the CATS!

Picture with Willie

We FINALLY got our picture today from Purple Power Play back in August! I think it was well worth the wait don't you? I LOVE this picture!
Nothing really new other than Kyra had LOTS of timeouts today. I guess she was screaming while she was in timeout and daddy sat next to her not looking at for from 2 minutes. He just pointed to the corner when she tried to leave or come close to him. After the two minutes they had a little "talk" about behavior and he told me that the rest of night went as smooth as a calm night on the ocean. The terrible twos are here I think. I hate Wednesday's because I go to school all day and then come home long enough to get something to eat and then leave again until 9:30 or later to teach at HCC. I sometimes hate that I feel like we don't get any quality time with her on these days.:(

Quality time with my daughter

I bought Kyra new BIG coloring book at Wal-Mart today. She and I spent time tonight coloring together. We were having lots of fun. Today she had homework from Preschool. They learned about the brain today. She had made a brain on a stick...too cute;)
I think we are going to start to try potty training in October. Our daycare provider has graciously volunteered to help out. So October 20th we will start! Wish us luck!

2 Year Photo @ Sears

Kyra turns 2 in 39 days! We headed to Sears to get her 2 year pictures taken. It was a little rough getting the pictures, but we ended up with some pretty decent ones:) I'll put the rest on my flicker slideshow if you would like to see more. I put all the Sears pictures we have so far. It's amazing to see how much she has changed but not changed in these pictures;)

10 Years Ago I was....

Kyra and Mommy

Cousin Haley & Kyra

Cousin Kyle (#10)

Kyra watching the MHS Cheerleaders

I was a Senior in high school cheering on the Hanover Wildcats at the football games. 10 years later I'm taking my husband and daughter to watch my cousin who is a Junior at Marysville High play football. Time does fly by.

We went to the Wamego/Marysville football game here in Wamego tonight. We had a great time until the 3rd quarter then had to leave because little Kyra was getting cranky since it was past her bedtime. I'm hoping the Marysville beat the Raiders since it was 35 to 7.

We got to see my Uncle Roger and his little girl Haley. Haley had a blast with Kyra...though I think Kyra almost had too much energy for her. Poor Haley was running up, down, up, down on the bleachers after her. At one point it was just to darling to watch. Kyra was leaning on one of the bleachers watching the game and everyone cheered. She instantaneously stood up and was shaking her arms and clapping to cheer the Dawgs on. At another point her eyes were glued to the cheerleaders and she tried her hardest to imitate them. Half time was the highlight of Kyra's performance by giving everyone a show of her dance moves as the Wamego High band played. I think maybe next year we'll start dance lessons;)

She brings so much joy to so many people! I'm so proud to be her mommy.

Kyra is getting so big!

Kyra is getting to do preschool work at daycare and I couldn't be more happy! I have such a happy heart when I see her work! Good thing she got a bookbag this summer because we now need it to carry our "work" home after "school". She was so darn cute the other morning. She had on her bookbag holding the straps while walking to Rina's. She looked so grown up!

Here is a piece of her school work. They are learning about the letter A. If you click on the slideshow I have some more of her work. I will probably post more later.

Again, look at my baby so grown up. I just love looking at her! She is just so beautiful. I love putting her hair in ponytails, pigtails and braids. She is zipping her bookbag to get ready to this this morning.

Weekend at Grandpa & Grandpa Green's

We spent the weekend at Cawker to watch my mom in her play she was in at Downs. She played a hippie and Penny made a cameo in the play also as you can see from the pictures. The play was very funny. It was a murder mystery which our table was one of the 4 tables that figured out who did it!

Kyra had lots of fun like always. We drove out to see the horses and she finally had the courage to pet Clover;) She also did some pumpkin pickin out there too! This girl could stay outside all day long if we let her. She ran and ran after the dog and cats! She just RAN AND RAN all day Saturday period! We did not have one single nap! I guess she thought she was going to miss something.;)

Grandma bought her a swimming suit for next year and we had to have a little fashion show;) Daddy thinks we have a little too much skin goin' on;) Uncle Kenny showed up around 11:00 am on Saturday and boy was Kyra happy to see him! We haven't seen him since the end of August when school started. He seems to be doing much better and we are so thankful!

We got a hoot out of watching Kyra drink from a cup while walking around the house with her hand on her hip....little miss ATTITUDE!

She must be growing because she did alot of eating and drinking while we were there.

We had a great time, but had to come home earlier than normal because my school was celebrating their 50th celebration and I needed to be there to help join in the party:) Hopefully we'll get to see Grandma Green and Freedom on the 27th so they can babysit Kyra while we go to the KSU game.

We enjoy the time we can get with our family because it seems like it is getting few and far between when we spend quality time with them.

48 Days and Counting Till Kyra's 2nd Birthday!

Kyra's 2nd birthday is quickly approaching! Target has this neat thing where you can create a list sort of like a registry, but now can be used for Birthday/Christmas etc. I've made a list for Kyra. I like to make one so that you can get an idea of what we are looking at. She is wearing 2T clothing and mommy always loves clothes! She loves art stuff and anything to do with balls...hence the ball and glove. She loves anything textile such as soft blankets and stuffed animals. She loves books, like pop up books or ones that have a rhythmic beat. Let's see oh and she likes Disney Cartoon DVD's like Finding Nemo. We don't have any DVD's from Disney. http://www.target.com/lists/D5LYY8FYDRWR
I am so looking forward to her party. I love putting it together and spending time with friends and family!!!
I made her invitations today because I'm sure that as the school year moves on I will have less and less time to do things. Therefore I need to take advantage of the free time that I do have right?
Kyra is having a Curious George Party this year! I thought these invitations were just too cute to pass up at Hobby Lobby earlier this year. It helped that they were on sale! She loves to watch George in the mornings, however with us leaving before 7 am this year she doesn't get the chance to watch it before school. Never the less she sees him and LOVES him! I will be attempting to make her cake again this year. I found a really neat site for cakes and posted her cake from last year. You can visit http://www.coolest-birthday-cakes.com/coolest-ladybug-cake-59.html and see her cake and find others if you are looking for a specific kind. They have all kinds of really cool cakes!

Weekend of September 6th!

Saturday Ryan and I went to the K-State game and saw lots of people that we haven't seen in a while. We met at Kites again at noon with some friends then headed into town. We made a couple of pit-stops at Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby. Then we went and joined the Nemaha County Catbackers while visiting with more friends. The game was uneventful really. K-State kicked Montana State's rear and it was rainy, but we still enjoyed it. The second half we moved over to section 8 row 8ish maybe and visited with Ryan's classmate from high school. After the game we went to Bramlage with Carla and my dad for some snacks, then came home.

Grandma Olberding came down this weekend to spend some time with her while we went to the game. They went a picked peppers from the garden and she played with her Aunt Michele and cousins (Spencer & Grant).

Today (Sunday) Grandma came with us to church and then we went to eat at the Friendship House. While we were waiting for our drinks our friends Cyrstal and Nick walked up to eat there too! So we enjoyed their company for brunch and went to the park for a bit.

I'm leaving with Crystal and Dana here in a little bit to stay the night at Ryan's parents to attend a workhop at Highland tomorrow. The weekends go entirely way too fast for me!

Labor Day

Helping make frosting!

We had a busy day today! The Olberding family woke up and little Kyra had her cereal for breakfast. She loves to eat the cereal and then drink the milk from the bowl. We are getting better at it each time we do it:) A little less on our body each morning.
After breakfast Kyra helped mom make cupcakes with frosting. She does a nice job of lining the cupcake pan with the cupcake liners and helped dump in the mix, eggs, water and oil. She was not too fond of the beater....it scared her. She did like the mini chocolate chips and I think ate more than she put in! LOL She also helped mommy sift the powder sugar for the homemade frosting again she ate more than she helped but that's OK, we were spending quality time in the kitchen.

We headed to Clay Center to visit the Deines's for lunch and was sad that we couldn't have stayed longer:( We had to head back to St. George to see Grandma and Grandpa Olberding. Kyra hasn't seen them in a very long time. She played and played with her cousins and they were all so cute together! By the time we came home she was delusionally tired and ready for bed so we had our bath and she laid straight down. Her sleeping has been great! Only a couple of times has she gotten out of bed, but really not that big of a deal! Will potty training go this easy too??????
