We are HOME!!!

We were discharged 1.27.2010 in the late afternoon. We headed over to Walgreen's to fill my prescriptions and we were told that it would take about 40 minutes so we decided to go over to McCallister's to have supper before heading home. So, Brady had his first "official" outing at a little over 24 hours old....Kyra was like 3 WEEKS before we took her out anywhere...LOL.

We got home and as you can see from the picture from the right he was doing well:) A very happy baby.

Kyra then came home with Aunt Megan and Uncle Gerard. She was so excited. She was giggling and said "I want to hold him mommy!" So with mommy's help Kyra was holding and kissing her baby brother.

The Dugan's came over to meet Mr. Brady and Grandma Green got here too to stay for awhile to help. Grandma brought bathroom presents for Miss Kyra and as she put them away she came out shouting "I'm so happy!"

She was watching me feed Brady for the first time and she was concentrating hard and asked "Mommy? Brady eat your booboos?" I explained that yes that is how baby brother gets his milk. So when Ryan was changing his diaper (which he HATES) he was crying and Kyra told daddy, "Daddy he's hungry, he eat mommy's booboos."

She is being a very good helper...making sure he has his passy and trying to tell US how to take care of him. She has been so excited that she got up at 3 a.m. and wouldn't go back to bed. Grandma and she finally went down for a nap in the later part of the this morning. They went shopping this afternoon and I took a 3 hour nap.

I've been feeling pretty good. If I stay up on my pain medication and my eats and drinks I'm good. I did get a headache today that I' hoping that is passed now. I have completed all the "mommy milestones" today and I'm hoping that my milk will come in soon. I'm much more relaxed this time around than with Miss Kyra. I think I've gotten more sleep in the two days Brady has been here than the first TWO WEEKS of when Kyra was here. Ryan is "conditioning" himself as he says:) I let him sleep from 1 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. today, but he is already in bed:) My body is conditioned so far because of the crazy sleeping patterns I've had for the past 2 months. I did put him on diaper duty till his goes back to work tomorrow....just because I'm healing.

We go in on Monday for his week check up so I'll be looking forward to hearing what Dr. Duff has to say about the little guy. He was very pleased with him in the hospital.

Please Welcome Mr. Brady Olberding

Please welcome Brady Anthony Olberding! He was born today January 26, 2010 at 1:26 p.m. He was 7lbs 7oz and 19in long.

We came in at 7 a.m. to be induced. I was hooked up to Pit by 7:30 and by 9 a.m. labor had started...I didn't wait as long to get the meds this time like I did with Kyra. I got my epidural at 9:11 and was feeling much better..my blood pressure did got down after getting the meds to 94/47 which was alittle scary for me. I was very dizzy and light headed but they came in and gave me something else and it made me feel a lot better.

Around noonish I started to feel a TON of pressure and went from 6 cm -2 station to a 9 and he was down to a +2 in little less than an hour. I never had that pressure with Kyra since she didn't want to come down. It was amazing to feel that pressure and not be able to feel/move your legs! LOL Course I was NOT laughing at the time.

I pushed for 14 minutes they tell me before he was out. I was way more vocal with him than I was with Kyra. I won't lie...it hurt like a son of a gun. I got a 2nd degree tear, but other than that we were good. His apar score was a 9 and that was with the cord wrapped around his neck and he did need a little oxygen.

He latched on well, but he has started to get sleepy when feeding so we are working on that. He's been very good so far and we are hoping to get to go home tomorrow.

Anticipation

So it's 4:45 a.m. and I can't sleep. Partly due to the fact that I have been WIDE awake for about a month and half now at this time normally with this pregnancy and partly because in about 2 hours Ryan and I will be heading into the hospital to have little Baby O!

So many emotions! I thought that I had prepped myself enough, but I guess there are still a gamut of emotions to feel. Why is it that I'm more nervous about delivering this one than my first? Will I connect with this one immediately like I did with Kyra? Will I love this little guy as much as I love Kyra? Will the delivery go smoothly? When do I decide to get my epidural (most important question right...lol) How will Kyra react when we bring him home? So many more questions!

Yesterday some more meatloaf was made and put in the freezer along with some yummy muffins. Chopped up some green pepper and onions from the fridge to put in the freezer so they wouldn't go to waste. We watched Kyra play starfall.com on the computer and we are just AMAZED at what she can do. She is just so funny!!

Funny story: We have two Shrek the III DVD's so he said he was going to send one back to Grandma Betty's. Oh....Kyra wasn't happy. "I'm sick of this!-AGH!" while stomping off "This is impossible!"...."I'm mad!" She came back out and I told her it was ok to be upset...not ok to be sassy. I asked her why she was upset and if it was because daddy was giving her DVD to grandma and yes this was why. No unfortunately the saying "I'm sick of this" comes from me and I take full responsibility, however we are not sure where she's heard "This is impossible."

Another One:
I was cleaning my bathroom last weekend and I was complaining that I needed help. She went out to daddy and said "You go help mommy!" Ryan was watching a game and said "Ok, in a minute." but didn't look at her when he replied. Kyra got frustrated and shook her finger and said "DADDY! You look at my eyes! You go help mommy now!" When she gets in trouble she won't look at you and we always say "look at my eyes".... apparently daddy was in trouble and she wanted him to know she was serious. (Yes, Ryan did come in and clean the rest of my bathroom)

It's just crazy how much they grow up in 3 years. Just a year ago I was concerned about her speech and her not getting her two-word phases out and here a year later we have such a more fluent little girl. She still talks with her eyes...she's always since she was a baby used her eyes to express her emotions...so adding her voice to them can be hilarious, sad, infuriating but most of all makes her so lovable! She gets so serious on certain topics.

I don't think I posted that she CUT HER BANGS again! She did this on Thursday of last week with toenail scissors! I have no idea what it is with her and cutting her bangs. We honestly thought we had all of them hidden and put away. They are pretty short after I tried fixing them...we'll just have to wait 6 months to see how much they grow out....I haven't taken a picture...there will be plenty to come after the baby is born that you can check out her new do!

See you can tell that I'm anxious...when I get nervous I talk even more than normal...and guess that can flow over into typing as well. You can laugh...it's ok;) It's either a quality that you love or get annoyed by I suppose. If I don't talk then it all stays put in my mind and it feels like I have a little hamster running on a wheel in my brain....at least that's what my husband compares it to.;) He tells me I think too much...LOL I just need to relax. He's right, I know;)

Well, it's now almost 5:30 a.m. and I best be on my way to jumping in the shower and making sure we are ready to go. Please pray that we have a save delivery with a healthy baby boy!

Dear Heavenly Father,
Please give me strength. Provide me with support through this miracle that you have given us. Be with Baby O and I pray for his health and safety.

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

**I normally write in a journal my prayers, but please pray with me on this day for the greatest gift God can give us!**

See you soon!

38 weeks & Induction

I've been avoiding the camera for the past four weeks....I haven't taken a belly picture for a MONTH! I guess I haven't really wanted to see how big I actually have gotten.

Over the past month this little guy has gotten bigger along with mommy! I didn't know my stomach could reach out so darn far! I was folding clothes using my belly as a "table" last night...hehe.

I would swear there were two kiddos in there, but I have seen twice now that it's just one. I guess it is the difference in carrying a boy vs. girl and just the difference in pregnancies.

I'm looking forward to getting back into some normal clothes and looking forward to spring/summer time to be outside and get some walking in to try and get back in shape.

I was looking at my weight tracker and I've gained a total of 23 lbs with this pregnancy. Of course I lost 13 lbs in the first trimester so could you imagine how big I would be if that wouldn't of happened....I guess that morning sickness was somewhat beneficial.

The big news is that we are going to be induced January 26th! This Friday will be my last day at work. I'm more nervous but ready with this one. I think I'm just nervous because I know what to expect this time around. So you'll need to be looking for pictures next week!!!! Please pray that all goes well and we have a bouncy healthy baby boy!!!

Until then....unless something happens earlier on his own....

Too Funny Not To Share

So the other night Miss Kyra went to the bathroom. She was taking awhile so I went into check on her. She was fine and we got her cleaned up. I left the bathroom...she didn't follow...didn't think much of it. She was still in there very quiet and I thought HMMMMMM.....better check. So I went in and she was standing there in her underwear with a surprised look on her face. I askd her what she was doing and I got "I be big like you mommy!" I was like huh??? I asked her what she had in her underwear.......well....she decided to put a pantyliner in....just like mommy...LOL. I think she thought she was going to be in trouble....I just laughed. I laughed even harder because she had put the sticky side UP! Poor thing....I told her that those were for big girls like mommy she was right. Kyra and I just laughed and laughed...

They just watch everything you do!!:) I had to share!

Baby O Update (short)

Very short post....went to the Dr. and I am now at 2-3 cm dialated...didn't say how far effaced I was. I did get the information that I tested negative for the Strep B virus...which means I won't get I.V. antibiotics every 4 hours like I did with Miss Kyra. Good thing..because it burned like crazy when they gave it to me....I'm sure it's because they were putting it in too fast, but never the less...I'm really glad that I tested negative this time around.Did not talk about induction since I'm not technically full term until Thursday. Plus he thought that Baby O is trying to come early on his own. He also told me to expect to be pregnant till my next appointment which is Monday the 18th. Then if I'm at a 3 we will make the decision to send me to the hospital from there or wait a couple of days to be induced.

I have to say I'm not a patient person and it was much easier on me to just go to the hospital, stick the pit in and have a baby 13 hours later...LOL. This waiting and not knowing is a pain in the butt...LOL.I came home after my appointment and slept for a few hours since I was up from 3:00 a.m....it was a LONG day.

So...no baby yet...stay tuned

BABY OLBERDING UPDATE!

Went to the Dr. today!!! It is the start of my weekly checks. Kyra and Ryan went with me this time. Oh my little Kyra! You have to love her! As the nurse was taking us back the room she pointed at my belly and with a HUGE smile said "Mommy have a baby!!!" Then she was a helper and held mommy's coat why she weighed in (always so much fun you know). Here is the funny part...I always have to bring in a urine sample to test for protein. I bring it in a little test tube they give me. I handed it to the nurse and she said very matter of fact "That is mommy's pee pee." I wasn't too embarassed until she did it again when I had to give another sample after my appointment to have it checked for a UTI. (Don't know the results of that yet by the way) Of course I'm telling all of you what she said so I must not be that embarrassed huh....lol. They are just so innocent and state the facts.

On to Baby O! His heartbeat was 139....still going strong. I am 1.5 cm dilated and 70% effaced. Now I know that does not mean labor is going to be soon, but it is always nice to know progress is being made. Baby's head is down still so he is being a good baby already and doing what he suppose to be doing. Again they are checking to see if I could have a UTI because I have been having some pain in my left side. I mentioned that the other night I had some stronger contrations about one and hour for about 4 hours. I knew it wasn't labor, and I knew he was going to tell me that because of that is the reason I'm progressed as far as I am now. I have my next appointment next Tuesday at which that time we will discuss a date to be induced. The Dr. did kind of act like Baby O may decide to come on his own early though too....so we will have to wait and see. I feel like a ticking time bomb! I never really felt that way with Kyra.

So stay tuned.......

K-State Basketball

We finally attended our last K-State games as a 3 person family! We went to the Cleveland State game on the 29th of December and went to the South Dakota game yesterday. At the game yesterday they recognized all the Manhattan USD 383 schools for their Standards of Excellence having us stand as each of our schools were named. We were all spread out, but I stood and yelled loud for NORTHVIEW! I also had one of my student place 3rd in the Hoop, Shoot and Holler contest!!!! It was a good time and of course our 12th ranked Wildcats stopped South Dakota! College Game Day will be here on the 29th for the KU game and I believe Ryan is going to go for that...I would love too, however I think I may be a bit tired with a newborn at home.:) Can't wait to watch the Big 12 Opener against Mizzou this Saturday!!! Come on Cats....show'em what we got!

A couple of notes about the pics....Kyra made an M&M creation on the bench at the game and then she herself took the picture to document her beautiful work:) The others are pretty simple...us and the game. She enjoyed getting her slushy and was ready to go with 2 minute left saying....."Mommy it over now...they win." Smarty pants!

BABY UPDATE: Not a whole lot other than he is running out of room! He hates to be cooped up and I just can't spread out enough for him. Kyra told me the other day "Mommy, baby brother come out now." I replied that he had to cook a little longer and she had a confused looked then said "Will he be hot when he come out?" LOL Good connection with the over huh? We were up most of the night with me being uncomfortable and heading to the bathroom....while Kyra was up too following me around telling me she was "getting bigger"....I'm thinking she had some growing pains and just wanted to snuggle with mommy. She finally went to bed in the chair with me at 2 am....I finally got "some" sleep at 4:30ish. Made for a nice LONG first day back at work.

We head to the Dr. tomorrow to start our weekly checks. We will see what the Dr. has to say tomorrow. So stay tuned!!!
