Weekend Fun

We had a great weekend. Saturday was the KSU Spring Game. Jr. and Betty came down and watched Brady while Ryan, Kyra and I went to Manhattan. We went to the KSU Insect Zoo where Kyra raced Hissing Cockroaches and pet spiders! Even mommy pet the Tarantula. She thought it was pretty neat to see all the insects. I loved her excited expressions every time we looking into a different cage.

We headed over to the Spring Game. It was a great time. The players look more like the old "beefed" up guys we are use to and that we have needed back. We sat with my dad (Reinhard) and Carla. We were talking about how we really liked Brandon Banks but he graduated. Ryan said "You watch that 86. He is going to be a good player!" This lady turned around and said "I hope so!" with a smile. Well it was Thomson's (#86) mom;) I'm sure she was beaming to hear a fan already be looking forward to watching him play. My cousin Erin proposed to his girlfriend Amy at the game too. She said YES! After the game we went to IHOP to eat where Kyra got her favorite: A Funny Face pancake.

Today we went to church and it was so nice to have Bishop George Fitzimans (don't think I spelled that correctly) say mass. He was our Bishop back in 1998 when I was confirmed. I could listen to him all day as there is something about his voice that almost makes you feel like the voice of God is talking to you.

We at with Ryan's parents at the Friendly Cooker then came home to take a cat nap, well Ryan and Brady did. I got the kids ready for their pictures and we headed back into Manhattan. Check out my previous post of their pics....they turned out GREAT! We got to see Rina our old daycare provider and we were so happy to have her finally meet Mr. Brady! Brady just melted in her arms and fell right asleep!

We headed over to KSU to the Union for some Fairytales and Fun. Kyra got to make a crown and wand while getting to play some games and listen to Snow White ready a story to them. She did the Cinderella broom race and boy was she ever determined to win! At the KSU Spring Game she watched the Jr. Wildcats on the field do a shoe race and she told her dad that she wanted to do that and that she would be the FASTEST!

We had a great but tiring weekend.....now off to get ready for Monday!

Made a Diaper Cake

I had so much fun making this small diaper cake for a co-worker who's wife is expecting June 1st. It's made of about 10 diapers and covered with tissue paper. Accented with floral flowers and a bath tub rubber ducky.
I'd love to try and make someone a 2 or 3 tier diaper cake sometime!!!

What A Week

Nothing is worse than having your baby sick and you can't do anything about it. Brady and Kyra caught a cold but Brady's just wouldn't go away and we ended up in the hospital Thursday night for observation.

Monday: Brady went to the Dr. with dad and he had a bilateral ear infection. Was put on antibiotic. Very congested and some difficult breathing. Dr. wanted him to come back Wed. for a follow-up. Was thinking RSV.

Wednesday: Went to follow-up. His oxygent level was at a 92 (should be 100). Dr. mentioned hospitalization but didn't think just quite yet. Dr. wanted to see him again the next day. Ended up going to the ER because Brady was very lathargic and not eating well. Did testing for flu and RSV. Both came back negative. Did a chest x-ray and it was a little cloudy. His stats at the ER was 96. Was told it was viral.

Thursday: Went to the follow-up and Brady still wasn't better. Oxygen was at a 93. Decided to put him in the hospital for observation. He did well with his levels staying steady at 97 or above. Except when he started his coughing fits it would drop low and so would his heart rate. It was a rough night. Daddy had to work on Friday so Mommy stayed with Brady.

Friday: Was dismissed and Brady had/has Bronchitis. Cough could last more than two weeks. Still on antibiotic for ear infection. Just keeping him Vicked up and the humidifier going. Still was wheezy on his right side. (this has been all week)

Not a whole bunch we can do. Our nights I'm afraid will be long for a while until this works itself out. He at least is now smiling and starting back is cooing up again. Still having coughing fits. We are also doing lots of suctioning of his nostrils so he can breathe.

Kyra threw up on Friday night, but we found that she had snuck a WHOLE bunch of candy when the grandma's weren't looking.......she just ate too much! Thank goodness she threw up with my mom. She told grandma "Gamma I spit up like Brady!" Well it was way more than a spit up. Mommy gave her a bath at 4 a.m. and was Cloroxing EVERYTHING she touched just in case it was the flu. Didn't need Brady getting that ON TOP of everything else.

Weekend Fun

We went out to Cawker this weekend to help get Freedom ready for prom. It was quite the adventure. Mom had left Thursday night for Lawerence to help Heather because she had her wisdom teeth out on Friday.

The kids and I left after school on Friday. We had to stop by Glasco to feed Mr. Brady. First time I had to actually stop on the side of the road to feed one of them when they were that little. Wasn't too bad except Kyra wanted to get out of her carseat which I wasn't about to let her do! We got to Cawker around 7:30 and got busy pampering Freedom. Grandpa watched Brady while Freedom had a "spa" night. Kyra had to get in on the action when we were painting toenails...LOL She ended up with HOT PINK toes and blue fingernails;)

I'm not sure when we actually all got to bed but it was a rough night because both of the kids caught colds and Kyra was coughing something terrible.

Saturday was interesting because Grandpa was sick and I felt like I had four kids to take care of! So Uncle Kenny came to the rescue and got there in the afternoon. He was a lifesaver and kept Kyra busy for the most part. She loves her Uncle Kenny, probably because he'll do anything for her!

I started on Freedom around 4:00 p.m. and I really can't tell you what else went on downstairs! LOL. Mom got home late afternoon and was taking care of things downstairs.

We got Freedom off and finally got to relax a little bit. The kids continued to cough and have terrible congestion the rest of the night though.

On Sunday Kyra got to play with Frisker's kittens. She had a litter of 5 and they are sooooo cute! Kyra is such and animal lover and so gentle with them. She treats them like they are her own and she is the mommy.

We also had another egg hunt with LOTS of eggs. It wore her out.....this is a good thing. Hunting eggs was not enough though. We came inside to dye some more Easter Eggs. We weren't able to make it out for Easter the weekend before so they got to celebrate this weekend. It all worked out nicely though.

We took lots of pictures......I wouldn't be me if we didn't. Don't have too many of Brady because he was inside most of the time eating or sleeping....he really wasn't feeling too well.

When we got home Brady was terribly congested and coughing. We were going to take him into KStat but they were closed. We had to wait until today to get him into the Dr.

Results of the Dr. visit...dunt dunt dun......Bilateral Ear infection with his right ear worse than his left. Dr. Duff is a little concerned about his congestion and lack of eating because if may be RSV. We have to go back on Wed. if we feel as though he isn't making any improvements. He is on antibiotic right now to help clear the ear infection. This is the 2nd one in a month! YUCK.

He has had a tough week this past week. Nothing can be easy you know. I guess it's not that it is just stressful getting back to work and then you have sick kids. It's hard to be back a week after being off for 2 months then having to take off to do Dr. appointments etc. These are the days I wish he was born just a little later so I could have had the rest of the year off. I love being back at work with my kids but at the same time I wish I was home with him so I could cuddle him and make him feel better.

My kids never stop amazing me! Even though they are sick they keep smiling!

I will keep you updated on Mr. Brady. Please keep him in your prayers.

Prom 2010

The kids and I went out to Cawker to help get Miss Freedom get ready for her prom. Freedom is a Sophomore this year. She is growing up so fast. At Downs all the kids get to go to prom but only the Juniors and Seniors do the dinner etc. Kyra had to get in on the action and get her nails done by mommy too! Freedom was so beautiful when she left! I have to say after roughly 10 years since MY last prom I think I could still rock the hair and make-up! LOL. I had so much fun getting her ready. I loved her dress which was only $14.00 from Dillards! They had a Hollywood theme and it was set up nicely...I guess I just compared it to ours which we spent $5000.00 on our Junior prom so it was a little less scaled than ours. It still was very nice and glad I got to go over and see it.

I did some editing of some of her pics...enjoy the show!
