Weekend of Parties!

We celebrated our nephew's 5th birthday at Kite's on Friday because we attended a party today in Odell, NE. Luckily though we were able to make it back to spend some time with ALL the nieces and nephews today too!

We traveled this morning to Hanover to Uncle Kenny's for lunch. Mom and Freedom went and got some chicken dinners from Ricky's. I was disappointed because usually the food is much better than what we were served. After lunch we then traveled to Odell, Ne to celebrate Rose Vitosh's 100th Birthday!!! Can you believe it??? Rose is my Great Uncle Kenny's aunt. So we were trying to figure out then what...that would make Rose Kyra's Great Great Great Aunt????? It's really amazing to think like that..WOW! Rose and my Uncle Kenny's dad were brother and sister. She had 8 children with 7 still living. I do remember two of her children well when I was growing up in Hanover as they would come to visit Kenny. I'm sure I've grown up...WAY up to them;)

We then came back home and played with the nieces and nephews before heading back home to get ready for the week. We do our final state math testing this week. Hopefully we'll get to see the Easter Bunny this weekend and do an Easter Egg Hunt back in St. Benedict after church if all goes as planned.

We also decided that YES we are going on vacation in JUNE!!! Yeah!!! I'm so happy about that and can't wait to take a vacay with my family! Until next time....

First Drawing of a person!

So excited to post that Kyra drew her first "person" over spring break! We were coloring and I went to the bathroom for a minute; we I came back she had a pen out and was intensely drawing with her nose close to the table. When I asked what she was drawing she looked at me very seriously and said "feet". She had drawn the body with a circle and drew a dot/line for eyes, then long legs with little dots for feet. I was sooooo proud of her! I've diagrammed the picture if you couldn't figure out where the drawing was because I continued to let her color her picture after she drew her person.

We did some water coloring tonight, but she gets bored with the paper and decides to paint her face...thank goodness it's no-toxic and water based!:)

It's Grease Lightning!

Last Friday I was lucky enough to go with a great group of ladies to the Columbian Theatre to watch the preformance of "Grease"! I'm always thrilled to go to the Columbian and always IMPRESSED by their preformances/talents in the community! I recommend to anyone to go see a production! Going the the theatre is definately one of my favorite things to do.
They have Steel Magnolias (May 8-May 24) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (July 10-July 26) for upcoming productions.

Such A Good Little Cleaner!

I had to post pictures of what little miss did with one of her stuffed lambs. Daddy found a lamb that fell in the mud awhile back and it was left in the garage. He told Kyra that it was in need of a bath to get clean. As I was getting supper ready I heard the water running in the bathroom sink. Nothing too unusual these days because Kyra loves to get the step stool and wash her hands. Being the good mother I am, I went to check on her and what to my eyes behold.....a stuffed lamb in the sink with a little girl putting soap on it saying "dirty mommy!" She truly loves to clean! Enjoy the pictures!

Fun On A Nice Day

What a beautiful day today. Kyra spent most of the day outdoors with daddy in the garage. Dad did some much needed spring cleaning in the garage. He has been working at Crum's Beauty College and brought home two workstations that work very nicely in the garage. He also is going to be putting some can lights in our kitchen too! Did you see my beautifuly smiling little girl in the picture above? She was having so much fun in the nice weather!

She had fun with a birthday toy she got and it was finally nice enough outside to open it up. She loves blowing bubbles, but we are still working on holding it away from her mouth! LOL

I'm always amazing how much she grows in such a short amout of time. I think about last year at this time and even towards the end of the summer and she wasn't able to climb up the step of her swing set, but now she does it so easily! She is just such a big and smart girl!

My dad and Carla surprised us with a visit today! Grandpa and Kyra went on a walk and Kyra got to sit on her first Harley! She's going to have to be ALOT older before she gets to get her first ride though. She found the horn and BEEP BEEPED around on it...she however did NOT like the sound it made and it scared her. After they left we had some supper then headed to the park. What fun we had! Kyra and daddy were playing football! She definately has the concept of keeping the ball away from the opponent (daddy!).

Ryan's 30th Birthday Party!

HaPpY BiRtHdAy RyAn!!!

Wow! What a fun time we had! Saturday couldn't have went ANY better!! Ryan didn't have a clue about the party and his face was priceless when he saw all that came to celebrate. It touched his heart deeply that so many came from near and far to help share in this day. I have posted an album on the right side of the blog if you would like to see all the photos from the night.

Karen Avery from Wamego made this wonderful cake for him. It was all chocolate with chocolate fudge in the middle. The hat is an actual hat that Ryan has....he thought he lost it so on Friday he went and bought a new one! LOL...it's our joke now!

Thank you to all who helped surprise him!

Happy Birthday Papa Jr.

I had to go back to Seneca and get fitted for my bridesmaids dress and while we were there we went out the Freddy's for pizza to celebrate Jr.'s birthday. We came back to the house for a piece of ice cream cake..YUM!!! Had fun and also watched the movie Australia...VERY good movie..a little long but good.
We had a nice time at church. We went to St. Mary's and Kyra got to go down for children's bible school. She made a cute little cross and beautifully colored picture of Jesus and children. I've always loved going to church at St. Mary's but love it even more now that Father Ed is at the parish! Father Ed was my priest at St. John's in Hanover while I was growing up there and I am so thankful God has put in where I can enjoy and appriciate his knowledge and spirit! God it good!
Wish the weather was more cooperative...the last three weekends have been yucky! It's time for this weather to warm up and stay warm. I'm still adjusting to the time change too...grrrr. One more week until break, but I've agreed to do some computer training for Pott County Offices T/W/Th...so not quite the break I wanted but making some extra money is always nice especially during the economic confusion.

We are always on the go...don't ya think?

Ryan agreed to go to Centralia Friday night to the high school game. Hanover beat B&B by 9. It was packed. It was fun to watch some HHS basketball this week. Kyra kept pointing to the court wanting to go out and play with the boys. All in due time little girl! Hanover did beat Centralia (WHOOT WHOOT!) Saturday night, but they both move onto Sub-State.

We then headed back to the farm to spend the weekend. Jr. called and they needed another couple to play cards at their card party Saturday nights. I was afraid that I would make a fool of myself but ended up coming in 2nd in the Women's group. I really did have a blast playing and hope we can do it again. Maybe we need to start a group down here!!

We are always on the go, we are heading back to St. Benedict next weekned and that following for a dress fitting and a party. It does make the weeks go by faster and make May not all that far off so I can then enjoy summer!

Not sure what are in the plans for Spring Break, maybe just relaxing around the house. I'm hoping the weather warms up because I'm tired of this cold weather.

Not a whole lot going on....just running here and there. Until next time......
