Christmas at the Green's

We traveled to my mom's on Christmas Day. The kids got lots of great gifts from them. Mom had a great meal ready for us and I ate WAY too much! This kids had a blast. My sister Heather and her dog Max were there. We love seeing them. The kids love Max!

I've only posted a few pictures because I took a TON, but as you can see they enjoyed all of their gifts:)
I don't get many pictures with my Great Uncle Kenny and I LOVE this one therefore I had to share! Kenny is so wonderful and is so loved by all of us.

ChRiStMaS!!!!

Hmpf! I guess I am suppose to open these? I love his facial expressions. He is very much like his sister in that aspect. We went to Mass on Christmas Eve and then went to see lights. When we returned SANTA came!

My beautiful girl!

He is a true boy! He just headed towards the presents and started to climb them like he was climbing a mountain!

This has to be my favorite picture! This pictures makes my heart burst with joy to see both of my children together. I see this and thank God for these two wonderful gifts! Kyra wanted to know awhile back about where she was before I had her and I told her that she was with God and that God let us have her and Brady to take care of here on Earth. :) I am so thankful to him everyday for giving us these gifts to watch over because they are truly two AMAZING children.

This is the face of a daughter telling her mom...."See mom..I TOLD you he'd get Fazzodles!" She loves to be right...I think this might come from me?

Brady did great opening presents. He is a very quick learner from watching his sister. He tore through them and we loved watching his reactions. It's crazy how fast time goes by. Last year he was still "cooking" as Kyra would have said.

She was sooooooooooo excited to get her hair cut!:)

She made us this wreath at school. It was so sweet. They had it wrapped in paper she made and she instructed us that we couldn't open it until Christmas. This was my FAVORITE gift!

She was playing with her Leapster Explorer and she was giving me kisses for a good job on her letter formations:)

We had such a wonderful Christmas.

Busy Christmas Season

The Craft Elf has been busy in the Olberding home. Below are the Tin Can Snowmen I made for Kyra's helpers at school. Ms. Megan loved her Crayon Monogram that we made (see previous post) We also made some Salt Dough Ornaments (above). They turned out awesome! All you need:
  • 2 C Flour (I use 1 c white & 1 c wheat-gave a textured effect)
  • 1 c salt
  • 1 c water
Bake at 250 degrees for 1-1/2 hours. Cool then paint. We used glitter to add that special touch. Each of her teachers got one while each of her grandmas. We started a tradition last year of making ornaments for grandmas;)

We are currently working on Melted Snowman cookies for her Christmas party at school. We made the cookies tonight and will decorate them tomorrow so be sure to check back for pictures. She told me while making the cookies "Momma your so AWESOME!" How can I argue with that?:)

I made some peppermint foot scrub as well! Super easy too if you have a food processor. Just blend up some peppermint, sugar and olive oil! We gave this to Brady's daycare provider along with one of the ornaments we made. She really liked it. Kyra wanted to make some for her Aunt Freebum with the leftovers;)

Post are very few and far between. School this year has been very very hectic. One of those years where you just survive. I wanted to share some of my ideas I found in case any of you are looking for something cute, fast and fun to make this year. I don't mind doing the leg work and other reaping benefits...I'm a teacher!!:)

If you are wanting specific sites, email me at hollyolberding@yahoo.com and I would be more than happy to get you the info!:) I like to share!!

First Family Christmas DOWN!

We celebrated Christmas at the farm this past weekend. I love this picture of Kyra. She looks so grown up...especially with her "Rapunzel" hair...aka hair past her butt:) LOL

So this is one family photo to cherish. Kyra is all bright-eyed, Daddy our pillar, Mommy super exhausted and our Mister Man (Brady) hamming it up as usually. If you haven't heard I have been diagnosed with asthma and all the construction at work has been irritating it since October causing me to not get the full oxygen capacity I normally would need, even with regulated medication. I go back to the Dr. on the 22nd. However, I couldn't pass a chance to show how funny Brady is because this is truly his personality:) He loves to be the center of attention!

Love, Love, Love this picture of the girls!!! Kyra and her cousins are the best of friends!

Brady opening presents...hmmmmm am I suppose to eat this?:)

Kyra's Teacher's Gifts

So I was searching ideas for things to make for Kyra's teacher for Christmas this year and found this awesome idea! This was my first attempt and I thought that it turned out well:) I got the frame on sale at Hobby Lobby for 6.00 and I had the crayons at home that I bought when they were $0.97 and the stickers for 2.99. So a gift under 10.00 was AWESOME and it is cute too!!

Santa in Seneca

By the time we got to Santa Brady was all tuckered out! I love this picture so much!

My two handsome men!

Adorable picture of Kyra with her hot chocolate:) She needed something to keep her warm while we waiting in line for OVER and hour!!

I adore my kids;)

Brady On The Butt

We went up to Ryan's parents for Thanksgiving and while there was able to make it over to Marysville to celebrate Thanksgiving with my dad (Reinhard) and Carla. Carla gave Brady and early Christmas present of two pairs of PJ's with his name embroided on the butt:) These are one of our favorites!!:) We love BRADY ON THE BUTT! While we were there we stopped to see the Uncle's at the shop and Brady got a tractor....RED of course! Kyra got an ornament as a K-State cheerleader with her name on it. We had to tell her she couldn't take it outside and play with it and that it was just to look at on the tree:)

Happy Halloween 2010!!!

This was the first time we've actually went OUT Trick or Treating in town. Kyra had lots and lots of fun. We went by this really awesome "haunted" house and I asked her if she wanted to go in or not....her quick reply "NOT!" We stopped going around town to head over to Megan/Gerard's house and on the way over there she informed me that she needed to fill her bucket more, so we stopped at a few more houses until she got too cold and we came home. The above picture is their "stash" from tonight! Brady is already eying Kyra's and she had to tell him the "Get Out!" They are too much fun!

Being silly:)

Me with the kiddos out Trick or Treating!

Trick or Treat Christina!

Kyra's Birthday Treats

I got this idea from www.familyfun.com! There are really simple to make. She thought they were really cool. I had to keep them away from her so she wouldn't get into them....this was of course after I told Ryan to stay out of the Reeses Pieces! LOL

Brady was THRILLED to dress up. He would smile and smile then we would put his outfit on and this was the face we got!

He didn't last long!

Trick or Treating Downtown.

A very happy girl.

After we were downtown, we went to the Parish Hall for pizza, games, and hot chocolate. My sister Heather came with us and we had a lot of fun. She got Brady to LAUGH and LAUGH! I thought the was such an adorable picture of the two of them!:)

Had to Post!

Heather got her this tutu and hat!! She was too flipping cute! She loved all the presents Heather gave her...especially the piano princess book and make-up...she has been wanting me to paint her nails with the purple nail polish Heather got her. ;)

Birthday Party-Kyra is 4!

Wow! Where does the time go. My little girl will be 4! She wanted a princess party this year and it turned out to be so much fun! The cake was a challenge but she LOVED it! All the girls were dressed in pretty dresses and had tiara's on. They played Pin the Kiss on the Frog and made their own crowns. It was so cute to watch them play Duck Duck Goose outside too:) I really can't believe that next year she is going to be 5! Seems like yesterday we just brought her home and I was rocking her to sleep.
She has already started thinking about her party.....she wants Scooby Doo! LOL

Ilness for Momma

I have been sick for over a week now. Went in last Friday due to wheezing and tightness in the chest along with coughing. Dr. gave me a Z-Pack and inhaler. I still was feeling cruddy and have been home all week. Went back to get a chest x-ray done but it came back clean and looked good. Tried going to work today but they sent me home. I went back to the Dr.'s office and saw the N.P. which she diagnosed me right away. It is a viral infections (a stomach bug) that starts in the head and heads to the respiratory system. They are going to test me for asthma in November because she has a very high suspicion that I am an undiagnosed asthmatic in which this is only triggered by a chest cold/infection. Just like what Brady was diagnosed with back in May. They have me on prednisone to try and open my airways and I still have the inhaler. I am not suppose to exert much energy because it will wipe me out. Now I have to limit my walking and talking....I know....the talking part is hard. If I talk to much I'll start getting into a coughing fit. So I'm home again tomorrow and going to try to get back to work on Friday, but have to teach from my chair and use the white board to communicate with my kids. This is definitely going to be a challenge. Kyra has been worried about me telling her teacher "My mommy's really sick, she's been in bed for two days:(" I also haven't really had much of an appetite so I'm drinking 1/2 water and 1/2 gatorade with little bits of food here and there. I've been very dehydrated and have been getting horrible headaches so the water and the gatorade is suppose to help with that as well. Hoping to get to feeling better soon.

Mini Photo Shoot With Mommy

Really there is no need for words:)
