Kyra The Farm Girl

Betty and Jr. needed help moving the cattle this weekend, so we loaded up and went to visit the farm.:) What a busy weekend for Little Kyra. Her cousins Spencer and Grant came up on Saturday and they played and played. I think Kyra spent a good portion in not all of her day outside. She loves riding on the riding mower with Grandpa and playing with Molly (farm dog). Kyra got her first ride in a BIG tractor and LOVED it!! Her eyes were the size of silver dollars and she found the horn...BEEP BEEP! It unfortunately was a green tractor, but she's never had her uncle's tell her that if she looked at one you'd turn into a green frog either!:) The boys went fishing and caught 4 catfish and boy did she love them:) She wasn't afraid to touch the guts...YUCK! She also wanted to kiss the fish...YUCK! Her cousin Spencer is taking a bucket calf to the fair for 4-H and she jumped right in to love up on the calf. I tell ya this girl doesn't fear anything but spiders and snakes. She was hugging and petting the calf and the calf was taking it all in. Below are some pictures to enjoy. We are heading back up to the farm this weekend because Ryan's brother Gerard is getting married, so again we will be having another busy weekend. We will slow down after that a little with our family vacation to South Dakota:)

Going on a Rock HUNT!!

Tonight we all went on a rock hunt in the country. We are collecting limstone rocks to make a flower garden in the front of our house. Kyra had a BLAST! I couldn't keep up with her....she SHOT out like a bullet from the truck to go find her own rocks.

I thought I got some good shots of her working and then did some editing with Picnik. As you can see we got quite a few rocks, but we are needing more. Rock Hunt TOMORROW!

Fun Saturday

We had a really great Saturday. Kyra went to her first birthday party for her friend Kaylin. We spent about 2.5 hours over at Kaylin's house playing, eating and trying to help KK open her presents. It was so fun to watch her with her friends and think it is so neat that she has had these friends since birth. Two other friends (The twins) Hunter and Hannah were there too! They all went to Rina's for daycare and are such cute little friends.

We decided to make a pit stop at the Garden Center to purchase some vegetables and flowers to plant this afternoon. Here is the start of our little garden, but little can be plentiful right?

We planted flowers in the back and I thought they turned out nice.
Kyra found a worm to play with but REFUSED to touch it. She was trying to get it to slither into her bucket and well, mommy had to help her put it back in. Soooooo, while mommy was watering the plants Kyra managed to lock us OUTSIDE and she was INSIDE. Our living room window was open so we were trying to get her to go open the door...but she wouldn't come to the window. I tried bribing her by saying "POP, do you want some POP?" well...little stinker came around the corner hold a POP CAN and held it out with a big smile:) We finally were able to get in through the window with Kyra's help. Believe it or not I really didn't panic...for some reason I knew we would get back inside. Below is a picture of her beautiful haircut she did Wed. night. We really have had an eventful week with her! LOL

This evening we drove to Maple Hill to eat at Puffy's to help celebrate our brother-in-law Toby's graduating from ESU with his Master's. Afterwards the three little girl cousins and Kade went to the park and PLAYED and PLAYED. It was hillarious to watch them run around. Kyra went FLYING down a huge slide and landed on her butt, but she just got up and ran to the next thing.
Awe...Sunday tomorrow. I'd say a day of rest, but lots of laundry and picking up the house tomorrow. Enjoy the post and until next time..signing off ya'll!

Very Interesting Night

Kyra is growing up fast that is for sure! Last night while I was on the phone Ryan went to check on Kyra in the bathroom. He came out with his hands cupped and close to his chest with a look of "Oh your not going to believe this!" When he showed me what was in his hands I gasped! It was a hand full of her hair! She had gotten some scissors decided she needed a bang trim. (Mommy always cuts her bangs) She looked at daddy and said "I pretty Daddy!" It really doesn't look THAT bad if we sweep her hair over to one side.

Then after that she had her bath which she always LOVES we were getting dressed and she wanted to do it all herself. She would tell me "No mommy! I try it!" So she would go sit on her chair and put her pants on. She is such a little independent girl.

Our BIG accomplishment even if it will be here and there was that she woke me up at 3 AM to tell me "Pee Pee Mommy!" So we ran to the bathroom and while she was going she said "drink". I went to the kitchen to get her some water and I hear "Done Mommy!!!" She got her drink and we headed back to bed.

I'll have to post a picture of her hair...haven't even taken a picture of it yet...can you believe it?? Naw...didn't think you could...I'll have to do that tonight;)

Just had to share our events from yesterday:) What a big girl!!!

UPDATE: Last night Kyra came up to me out of the blue and hugged me while saying "I miss you mommy!" Her first really full sentence...but it makes me sad that she misses me..thank goodness school is out next week and we can spend more time together!

Mother's Day Gift From Ryan

"Ryan & I at Power/Light"
What a great Mother's Day present....Ryan took me to see Kenny Chensey in concert this weekend for my Mother's Day gift. Kyra spent the weekend at the farm with Ryan's parents while we went to Legend's for supper then met up with Michele and Dick at Power & Light before heading over to the Sprint Center for the concert.
Lady Antebellum was his first opening act. I was so excited when I found out they were opening because they are a new group that I love! Then Miss Miranda Lambert opened after them. Boy she is a spitfire and fun to watch!
THEN.......... Mr. KeNnY ChEsNeY!
He entered on a zip line singing "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy"

It was a packed house and so much fun. We were on the very top but he went non-stop for an hour and half. It was great!

The last time I saw Kenny Cheseny was at Stampede but I really didn't get to see him down at the grounds. Ryan had surprised me then too by taking me to one of the hills to watch under the stars! He is so romantic!! Love him so much. I had a great weekend and am so blessed to have such a loving husband!

Weekend at the Green's

Kyra had fun at Grandma's house. Here she is making brownies and trying to sneak a bite!!!

The brownies were done and very YUMMY!

I woke Kyra up with one of the baby kitten's...she loved it and wanted to the kitty to go "night night" She really does love kittens.

We went to the neighbor's Friday night and mommy forgot Kyra's coat. We found some items around the house and this is what we got...a cutie pie!

Saturday we went to Salina and watched Freedom preform her play at State Forensics...it was so funny and she got a I on both her poem and play! I'm so proud of her! She is very talented in drama and singing!

We then went on to Hays and visited with my aunt and other relatives. Kyra tried on her flowergirl dress with Payton in his dress clothes...they were too cute! Can't wait to get the pictures Jeanne and Aubrey took...YES I forgot my camera! Those two little ones are going to be so cute at the wedding in June.

When we got home Kenny was waiting for us...he couldn't stay away:). Today Kyra and Kenny spent a good chunk of the morning playing outside and going on a walk. I spent the morning reading a book "Ink Exchange". I had a borrowed copy at home but forgot to bring it with me but luckily Freedom had a copy!

We got home arount 5:30 and Kyra slept all the way home and JUST woke up and it's 6:50...she fell asleep around 3:20! She had a very exciting weekend! She loves her Grandma, Grandpa Green, Freedom and Uncle Kenny!
