Tuesday Night High School Basketball!

Monday evening as my wonderful husband was giving me a back rub because I pulled a muscle in my next (I believe it is due to the stress of State Assessments coming up and completing my final observation at work), my Uncle Roger called. I always enjoy hearing from him and getting the news that the kids have an upcoming game in Wamego. We always go except I think we've missed two:(. Kyle had a basketball game against Marysville Tuesday night so we trucked over to the high school and had ourselves a super duper time:-)
The boys lost but had a great come back from like 20 to only losing by 9 points. Kyle was charged with two fouls one of which was called because they said he elbowed, but he didn't. After the game I was like "Dude! If you gonna elbow someone... ELBOW someone!" It definately should have been a no call. Kyle is a junior and WOW does time fly. I had to laught because I'm old enough to use the saying "I use to change your diapers!". I don't consider myself old though.....to them maybe yes!:) LOL
Kyra had a good time with the girls. She was glued to Haley the whole night. But she was in LOVE with Ashley's cell phone. She would hold it up and go "See Mommy!" When the boys left the court from Warm-ups she went with her hands up "Where'd they go??" She also loved watching the cheerleaders...;)

I always love seeing these guys and I'm glad that I get the chance to watch them grow up:) Look how TALL Kyle is. He towers over me!

I'm trying to talk my husband into going to the B&B vs. Hanover game in Centralia Friday night. I still have to do some more coaxing! Good times!

A Nice LONG Weekend

We had a wonderfully long weekend:) Daddy took his ladies out for a Valentine's dinner at Famous Daves and then took mommy to get her Valentine's "treat". Daddy got mommy a BlackBerry cell phone! So now mommy can check her Facebook, email, listen to music, schedule events and much more!:) On Sunday Mommy and Kyra took Daddy to IHOP for breakfast for his Valentine treat...it's hard to beat a BlackBerry! Kyra got to visit Megan while Daddy and Mommy went and did some shopping in Manhattan. Sunday was a busy day with basketball games. We went and watched Spencer play BBall and then Uncle Gerard play too! Today we went and ate dinner with our friend Crystal in Wamego and stopped at Vanderbilts where Kyra got a pair of Cowgirl Boots! She was hillarious! She found the "Booots" and I asked if she wanted some and she told me "Yes!" while sitting on the floor taking her shoes off so she could try some on:) So we got some "Booots!"

Look at this pretty little girl! We straightened her hair for her Valentine's Do!

Kyra's fancy boots. Daddy said "Kyra those boots make you taller." and if on cue she said plain as day "I know!". She loves these and was in the kitchen dancing showing them off to us. They do look pretty snazzy and they make her leg look really LONG.
Our three day weekend is over and now back to the grind tomorrow!

Fun with Mommy

I'm in the process of making these treats for Kyra's Valentine's Party on Friday. I haved 3 of 30 done:) They are just premade sugar cookie mix, lollipop sticks, M&M's and those little Valentine candy hearts...oh and mini chocolate chips.

Kyra had her first "homework" assignment last night. We were to find 3-4 pink items around the house. Mommy and Kyra went on a pink hunt! I helped her cut and glue but she stuck them on the paper...(ok I pointed where they needed to go!) We had about 8 items....yes we are over achievers...no it's the teacher in me!

Kyra was working on her Valentine's last night too! She wrote her "name" on some of the cards and here she is working on a project for our daycare provider. She loves to paint. She was trying very hard to stay in the lines when she was painting. She becomes very focused and leans in to her work when she is writing/drawing/or painting...it's awesome how focused she is.
She also wanted to help me with the cookies "I help! I help!" She got out her step stool and then at one point decided to sit at the table and use the rolling pin! I tried to take her picture but she said "No cheese mommy! No cheese!" I tell her to say cheese when taking pictures and apparently she didn't want me taking pictures;) LOL
It was a fun night....tonight I need to make the other 27 cookies! YIKES!

Sugar & Spice!

Little Miss Kyra is growing and always learning! I'm always amazed at what she is learning and what she can do. The other week Ryan and I were watching her play in her bedroom playing basketball and she jumped up using both feet! She is also catching balls now when we toss them to her. I'll ask "Ready?" and she say "Ready!" with her arms outreached! She is also talking more! It was so funny in the car last night when we were driving back to Ryan's sister's from the baptism. We had our nephew with us and there were playing in the back when I heard from Kyra "I gotch you!" Then when we were leaving she was telling everyone good-bye and she went to Kade and said "Bye-Bye Baby!" along with "See you laters guys!". We however have went from "bumbob" for Spongebob to "Bobby"..not quite sure why we are calling him that now.

We had fun curling all her hair on Saturday, but by the time we got to Emporia it had a little less curl, but none the less she looked adorable. Knock on wood but we are "starting" like the camera again now that she knows that she can see the picture on the screen after we take it.:)

I can't believe that it's the 2nd week of Feb. all ready! I need to decide what I'm going to make for her treats for her Valentine's party on Friday. The year is just flying by and before I know it is going to be summer. Which reminds me I can't remember if I posted that I decided to teach 6th grade next year. I'm excited for a change! So I'm sure I'll spend some of my summer looking over the curriculum deciding how to tackle my current 5th graders as 6th graders:)

Time to hit the gym! Until next post!

Weekend Fun

We had a busy weekend! Friday night daddy got very sick and spent the night downstairs, but we were excited that by Saturday morning he was feeling better. Little Miss Kyra was up bright and early and ready to help us clean house. We spent all morning giving the house a good cleanin'.

Around 3:30 Grandpa Grund and GiGi came to babysit while we went out for supper. Ryan and I had a very nice evening out. We headed down to Aggieville to the Habatchi Hut and ate a delicious supper. We ran some errands and came home to see a little girl that wasn't feeling well. I know Grandpa Grund was worried that she might have gotten the flu like the last time he babysat, but poor thing was just constipated. I think they all enjoyed their evening together.;)

On Sunday we were up super bright and early to get ready for church. We were invited to come up to the soup dinner at St. Mary's by Ryan's mom & dad. We got to the farm around 9:10 a.m. and then headed to church. Kyra did great at church which someday of course are challenging. We were well equiped with M&M's and baby wipes for her to "clean" the pews. The soup dinner was great as always. I can't decide if I like Pancake Feeds of Soup Suppers better. We stayed to watch the Super Bowl and had wonderful Super Bowl snacks. Kyra made the little weiners and she did a SUPER job. She loved eating them and her cheese dip. Very disappointed that the Cardinals, but it's just a game. We left right afterwards and got home very late....very busy weekend, but it was loaded with lots of fun.
