Thanksgiving Break

It was a long but short break if you can imagine that. We left Wed. night for Ryan's parents so we didn't have to get up early on Thursday. We spent Thanksgiving Day at Ryan's aunt's house. Too much food! I can say that Thanksgiving is really not one of my most favorite holidays. I do enjoy the break from school however.

Friday Ryan with some minimal help from Kyra put up Christmas decorations at his parents house. This is a tradition and Ryan loves doing this. He also does ours....I'm not allowed to touch the tree!:) LOL Doesn't bother me any. Friday night Santa came to town in Seneca. We took Kyra in and stood in a LONG line to get the wonderful picture you see above. She curled up like a ball and buried her head in their chest and REFUSED to look at them. He mood quickly changed when she was able to ride the "train". She wouldn't wave at us but LOVED waving like a little padget winner to the long line still waiting for Santa.

Saturday we went over the Hanover. Kyra and her daddy stayed with Great Uncle Kenny while Mommy, Grandma Green and Freedom went shopping in Lincoln.

Sunday we came home and I got sick

so I apologize for the change in tense in my writing. Debated if I should call in and stay home. At this point I think I might try and rough it. I have some more pictures (imagine that!) that I will get posted sometime. Right now I'm heading to bed praying that I'll feel better in the morning.

November Time Photos

I was looking at some pictures that I had posted on my facebook and found some that I haven't shared on here. Little Miss Kyra loves going outside! As you can see she was helping rake the leaves. She is very INDEPENDENT and does not want help of any kind. She also went exploring on the farm. She is also very DETERMINED to go her way or no way. As you can see she did NOT want to be in the corn crib eventhough mommy thought it would make a cute picture. It still turned out cute even with the sad/unhappy face. LOL

Ryan & I at the VERY cold NU game...if you called it a game that is. I find that we have WAY more pictures of Kyra than we do of ourselves. Goes to show where our main focus is....our beautiful daughter:)

St. George Elementary Open House

This past Tuesday we went over to St. George Elementary's Open House. It is a very nice school and Kyra LOVED it! She especially loved running in the open gym. She was also in awe of the classrooms, particularlly the Preschool and Kindergarten rooms. Her eyes just lit up as we moved through the school and she saw all the amazing things on the walls and in the rooms.

She definately loves her daddy! Here she is giving kisses to him and the other pictures is catching her excitement running ing the gym.

We are headed back to Ryan's parents for Thanksgiving. Looking forward to a break.

Even with the break I don't think that it will slow down much.
The weekends in December are already filled up on our calendar with events to attend. It is just crazy to think that this Christmas is going to be Kyra's third Christmas! She has grown up so much. We were looking back at old videos and were amazing how much she's grown and how much her hair has grown! LOL

She and I were having a great day today. We both took a 3 hour much needed nap! We watched movies and then we started to watch the AMA's. She LOVES any kind of music. We also watched New Kids On the Block perform. They were my favorite 20 years ago! She is just a blessing everyday. She gives me so many smiles each day and I can never stop hugging or kissing her.

Ty Pennington and Extreme Makeover

Today I was lucky enough to get to go to Chapman, KS and help "move that bus!" I left Manhattan in the morning and found myself in a really great spot to view the family when they arrived. I probably had a decent chance to be on TV if I would have stayed there. BUT....I heard the megaphone guy ask if this one lady wanted to come over to be with her husband and they let her....SO....I called Ryan and went to ask if he could come get me.;) The man said if he went really quickly he could so it looked like Ryan picked me out of the crowd to come be in the crowd of volunteers that helped:) So I actually was in a better spot to get pictures of Ty Pennington.

Before I moved over there I was able to catch Ryan and Scott working on an outside light on the front porch. Today Ryan got to meet Ty Pennington while they were finishing up some work inside. He also met all of the designers that were there: Rib Hillis, Paul DiMeo, Paige Hemmis, & Michael Moloney.

While I was on the side with the builders and sub contractors I heard that Extreme Makeover wasn't going to do one here because they thought that there wouldn't be enough volunteers and builders to get the project done. It was just the opposite. There were so many volunteers they were able to do more work in the community. This is the most they have done in one location than any other. I thought that was awesome! They built a community building (storm shelter) and also helped some other families finish their homes.

Ryan wired the baby's room so everything you see in there Ryan did. They also did the football bedroom for one othe boys. Another thing they worked on was the ceiling fan in the master bedroom. I did get some pictures of Scott and Ryan working outside on the porch today with a light fixture.
I was so glad that I could be a part of such an amazing thing and I am so proud of the work that my husband and A&E did!:) The show is to air in late January. I've heard the 25th on ABC. I plan on having a "watch" party when it airs!! Too fun!
Check out more pics on my slidshow to the right!

Extreme Makeover in Chapman

Today was so cool! Kyra and I headed over to Chapman with Michele and the boys to go watch them work on the house that Extreme Makeover is doing for a family there. It was so neat that Ryan's company vehicles were in front of the house because they are not allowed to wear company shirts since they all have to wear the blue shirts that says "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" on the back.

When we got there were were able to see daddy right away! We asked if he had seen any of the "famous" people and he had seen all of them at one point. He only saw Ty Pennington in a truck.

Good think my sister-in-law brought her camera because I thought we couldn't take pictures! We have some different angles of the house and Ryan went inside to take pictures for us!

Here are some pictures from inside that Ryan took for us. I thought it looked pretty darn awesome! I loved the color of the kitchen. The fixture is hanging in the baby's room. This is a $2300.00 light fixture that they wouldn't let Ryan hold to put up. Some other crew member had to hold it while Ryan hooked it up. It was handcrafted to match the room.

The living room space is awesome too! I thought the light fixtures in here were pretty neat also. They look like bird cages.

I love the little animals is the baby room too!

I had my sister-in-law take pictures of Chapman High School. It was about 14 years ago that I walked through these doors and had my 1st FFA Greenhand Conference. It is always surreal to know that this building is something you have been in and was a part of. In a minute it is gone. The town has lots of damage and Manhattan was very VERY lucky. My heart goes out to the community of Chapman.

Too fun!

Season Opener

We went to the season opener at Bramlage to watch the KSU Men's basketball team beat Florida A&M! We were invited to join some friends for supper and they had extra tickets and thought of us;) We are so thankful and blessed to have great frienships in our life. The game was great! They guys worked well as a team and we got to see two really cool dunks!

Kyra and her daddy! For the first half she did expectionally well. She watched the game and who just cheer away. It was so funy because she would clap when everyone clapped because something good happened. At one point during a free throw she had both of her hands palms out at her chest waiting to see if they made the basket. When they made it she threw her hands up and cheered! She was definately part of our entertaiment last night.

I captured this cute little pose right before we left to head into town. The girl loves sports!

Again Kyra cheering on the Kansas State Wildcats!

Potty Training Continued!

WOW! Kyra has been potty training two weeks this past Saturday and we are doing AWESOME! Only one accident ALL weekend long! We didn't have an accident today until mommy was making dinner and didn't realize she went to the bathroom and shut the door. We now need to work on being more independent and pulling our pants down. She forgot to do that step and poopied in her underpants. We really only have on average 1 accident per day. We are just so proud of her!

TrIcK oR TrEaTiNg

Kyra participated in her 2nd Halloween! Wamego has the businesses open from 5-7 p.m. to allow for Trick-or-Treaters of all sizes to come have fun and gather candy. Kyra was a little unsure of the whole process but caught on quickly. She would venture from each business with her bag open and hold it up to the person giving candy. We worked on saying "Trick-or-Treat" but had little success, however we did say "Thank You" to all;)

The Pharmacy was creative and put their treats in a camode! LOL

She finally went walking without the help of mommy and daddy:)
